Day 2 of the 30 in 30 Painting Challenge
|
Victorian Faces #7
5x5", 12.7x12.7cm
oil on canvas, acrylic ground |
This canvas pad was very rough even with extra gesso applied. I found it difficult to paint the smaller details with any accurancy because the brush skipped over the rough surface. Will move on to smoother panels I think.
I so love this portrait, Evelyn!
ReplyDeleteI love this vitorian portrait..so serious and quite determinated!
ReplyDeleteHappy challenge, Evelyn
Love it. Rough is good. Aren't we artists hard on ourselves. When I was in
ReplyDeletethe Orangerie in Paris looking at Monet and Bonnard, I would have been delighted
to see this mixed in with the other paintings. Perfect.
XOXOXOXOXOXO
Thank you Barbara! That is a compliment indeed. When I first look I find so many faults in my paintings. I guess that is why we keep painting. Thanks for stopping by. ;)
