Today the weather looks similar to this. A cold dark day with storms moving through bring, rain, wind, sleet and snow at higher elevations. Brrrr Glad I am able to paint inside from photos on days like this. I have only to step outside to recall the day. I took a photo of this because it is too wet to scan and cannot seem to adjust the slight distortion properly nor the colour balance. The colours are close but a little less blue. Will have to edit this when I can scan it.
Wow... You've really captured a mood here Evelyn! I love the texture... Is it a palette knife you use?
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra! I used bristle brushes on this one, but do occasionally use a palette knife. Thank you for visiting my site.
DeleteI've never tried painting with a palette knife and I tend to paint with reall soft brushes. I also LOVE the painting you have used for your blog banner too... Love the brushstrokes and orange is one of my favorite colours.
DeleteYour work is so fine and beautifully detailed I can see how soft brushes would be necessary. Thank you for your comment. I did the persimmons a while back. They are such a gorgeous colour.
